Alumni Group Show @ SEMINAR – NYSRP DUMBO Oct. First Thursdays

For Immediate Release:
An Awful Lot Has Changed
An alumni exhibition
October 6th – October 24th
Opening reception Thursday, Oct 6th 6 – 9pm

The New York Studio Program is pleased to announce its’ second show at Seminar and we’d like you to join us for the exhibition of works by past and recent alumni of the AICAD residency.

An awful lot has changed since 1992…

It goes without saying that trends have come and gone and in the midst of this the New York Studio Residency Program has proven to be an important touchstone in the development of more artists than one may be aware of.

Many of the artists selected for this exhibition have passed through the program at different times with experiences that vary widely. That being said, there is still an abundant sense of community that remains a constant thread between the artists and their distinct works. The participating artists include NYSRP alumni Charles Mayton (Fall 2000), Nathan Skiles ( Spring 2002), Joshua Smith (Spring 2004), Marley Freeman (Spring 2007), Sean Pearson (Spring 2011), Erin McKenna (Spring 2011), and Natalie Lerner (Spring 2013).
-Kyle Petreycik

Kyle Petreycik is an artist and alumni of the NYSRP and is currently serving as the program’s teaching assistant. In addition to curating our first alumni show at the program he also has a solo show at Emma Geller Green through October 8th.

Seminar is a project space located at 20 Jay Street in Suite M10 on the mezzanine level (one flight up) in the AICAD New York Studio Residency Program. Seminar is open to public on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 6pm and by appointment during the week. The exhibition reception is part of Art in DUMBO’s First Thursday Gallery Walk from 6 – 9pm.
